Roots Integrative Therapies is a holistic therapy clinic located on the Seacoast of New Hampshire in Portsmouth. Roots offers Manual Physical Therapy, Pelvic Health Therapy, Therapeutic Massage and Functional Movement Training.

Manual Physical Therapist

We’re hiring a Manual Physical Therapist to join our growing team. This position has the option of being a part-time or full-time, with benefits role. The compensation range for this position is $75-$105 per treatment hour, commensurate with experience. We are a cash-based clinic, with one hour treatment sessions with clients. The schedule will be determined on an individual basis with each practitioner. Roots provides staff training, in-service training and opportunities for continuing education.

Required Qualifications

  • New Hampshire Physical Therapy License

  • Certified Functional Manual Therapist (CFMT) or desire to become a CFMT

  • Experience: Minimum two years of practical experience

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess patients' injuries and conditions to identify the root cause of their problems.

  • Create and implement customized treatment plans that often include manual therapy, therapeutic

    exercises, and patient education.

  • Perform hands-on techniques such as joint mobilization, soft tissue manipulation, and massage to

    restore function, flexibility, and alignment.

  • Guide patients through therapeutic exercises designed to improve strength, flexibility, and range

    of motion.

  • Educate patients and their families on pain management strategies, home exercises, and injury prevention.

  • Chart patient progress, evaluations, and treatment plans accurately and in a timely manner in electronic health records (EHR).

  • Communicate with other healthcare professionals, colleagues, and family members to ensure coordinated care.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest advancements in manual physical therapy.

  • Participate in weekly staff meetings and monthly in service and training

  • Attend events and workshops for marketing as needed

Therapeutic Massage Therapist

This is a part-time, on-site role for a Therapeutic Massage Therapist located in Portsmouth, NH with potential to grow to full time. The Therapeutic Massage Therapist will provide a range of services, including but not limited to: assessing clients' physical condition, manipulating soft tissues to relieve pain and stress, and developing personalized treatment plans. They will maintain client records, provide guidance on stretching and posture, and may work with other healthcare professionals to coordinate client care. The role requires strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Specializations may include cranial-sacral therapy, deep tissue massage, thai massage and more. Techniques may include hot stone massage, aromatherapy, lymphatic drainage and more.

 

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in Therapeutic Massage and Body Massage techniques

  • Relevant certifications and licenses in massage therapy as required by the State of New Hampshire

  • Strong skills in Stress Management and client relaxation techniques

  • Excellent Customer Service abilities to build positive client relationships

  • Commitment to maintaining a welcoming and professional environment

  • A strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and musculoskeletal conditions 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, professionalism, and a positive attitude

  • Prior experience in a wellness or therapeutic setting

  • Experience with specialized techniques a plus but not required

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Discuss symptoms, medical history, and treatment goals with clients to understand their needs.

  • Locate painful or tense areas by evaluating the client's body before and during the massage.

  • Manipulate muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues using appropriate therapeutic techniques.

  • Develop and recommend personalized treatment plans, which may include guidance on stretching, strengthening, and stress relief.

  • Provide aftercare instructions, explain possible causes of pain, make recommendations for follow up treatment and massage, and answer questions about the massage experience.

  • Maintain accurate client records, monitor progress, and document conditions and treatment sessions.

  • Stay open to learning new ideas and techniques and maintain physical stamina for demanding work.

  • Participate in monthly in service and training and weekly staff meetings

  • Attend events and workshops for marketing as needed

 

Compensation

$60-$80/hour, commensurate with experience

Acupuncturist

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Acupuncturist to join our integrative clinic. This role involves providing one-on-one patient care through personalized acupuncture treatments and holistic wellness support. The ideal candidate is collaborative, patient-centered, and passionate about working alongside other healthcare practitioners to support whole-body healing and long-term wellness.

 

Reports to: Kyle D. McIntyre, Owner

Key Responsibilities

  • Client evaluation and consultation: Discuss symptoms, medical history, and treatment goals with clients to understand their needs.

  • Assess and treat various physical, mental, and emotional conditions, including but not limited to chronic pain, insomnia, stress, nausea, and headaches. 

  • Insert fine, sterile needles into specific points (acupoints) on the body to balance the body's energy, known as qi. 

  • May also use cupping, moxibustion (burning herbs), acupressure, or dietary and herbal therapies as part of their treatment plan. 

  • Treatment planning: Develop and recommend personalized treatment plans, which may include dietary, lifestyle and stress management recommendations. 

  • Client care and education: Provide aftercare instructions, explain possible causes of pain, make recommendations for follow up treatment and answer questions about the acupuncture experience.

  • Documentation: Maintain accurate client records, monitor progress, and document conditions and treatment sessions.

  • Professional development: Stay open to learning new ideas and techniques and maintain physical stamina for demanding work.

  • Participate in monthly in service and training and weekly staff meetings

  • Attend events and workshops for marketing as needed

Required Qualifications

  • Current New Hampshire Acupuncture License

  • Maintain continuing education and up to date licensure as required by the State of New Hampshire

  • A strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and musculoskeletal conditions 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Maintain high standards of hygiene, professionalism, and a positive attitude

  • Maintain clean and professional workspace

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of practical experience 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods while performing various acupuncture techniques 

  • Ability to assist with client mobility

  • Ability to perform basic administrative duties such as checking patients in and out, processing payment and responding to emails and other client communication

 

Work Schedule

This will be a part-time position with potential to grow to full-time. Schedule will be determined on an individual basis with each practitioner

 

Compensation

This is a part-time, hourly position, with potential to grow to full-time, with a pay range of $75-$90/hour, commensurate with experience. Roots employees also receive 50% off on treatments as an added benefit.
